The Risen Christ shows himself alive to the disciples

C. We adore you, Christ, and we bless you.
T.  For with your Easter you have given life to the world.

1L.
From the Gospel according to Luke
While the two were telling them this, suddenly the Lord  himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."  They were terrified, thinking that they were seeing a ghost.  But he said to them, "Why are you alarmed?  Why are these doubts coming up in your minds?  Look at my hands and my feet, and see that it is I myself.  Feel me, and you will know, for a ghost doesn't have flesh and bones, as you can see I have."  He said this and showed them his hands and his feet.  They still could not believe, they were so full of joy and wonder; so he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"  They gave him a piece of cooked fish, which he took and ate in their presence (24,36-43).

2L.  The incredible, the concrete
It is too great to be true.  Fear of the ghost, the prejudice of the impossible prevents from accepting reality.  And Jesus invites his own, almost all of them, with the great word:  "Touch me".
John will say in his first letter:  "These fisherman hands, used to handling nets, counting fish, have touch him."  But they are still hesitant:  it is too good to be true.  And Jesus answers with the request to eat with them. At this point joy explodes.  The incredible becomes concrete.  The dream becomes a sign.  So it is really true?  So dreaming is not forbidden?  To dream that love wins over hatred, that life wins over death, that experience wins over distrust.
It is true, Christ is alive!  Faith is real.  We can trust.  Here is the house of the greatest dreams, it is the house of the most authentic meanings.  In a bacchanal of superficiality, the youth at the threshold of the millenium are called upon to experiment the truth.  Who is he:  the Risen that came back to life.
To never grow old, to stay fresh, one must be reborn at every dawn.  We are reborn every day, if we are able to be surprised in front of this incredible human that becomes the divine concrete.  Jean Cocteau said: "One is born old, and must become young".  Youth is not a matter of registry records, but a lifestyle:  it means to be able to give up when faced with the truth that is not superficial appearance.  We must accept the challenge:  be able to pass, like the apostles, from terror to safety, from the fearful love to the courageous love.  It is imperative to pass from the vision of freedom as a selling of oneself to that of the freedom as spending oneself.

T.
Rejoice, Virgin Mother, Christ has risen.  Hallelujah!

C.
Let us pray.  Jesus risen, we admire you for your patience in passion:  silence.  We admire you for your patience in resurrection: pedagogy.  Give us, for as men of our time want everything and right away, the ability of the love that knows how to wait, and can do so in prayer.  You are alive, you are not a ghost.  Enable us to treat you like the Living.  And free us from the ghosts that we make of you.  Enable us to present ourselves as your signs.  The world awaits them to be able to believe.
T.
  Amen
